Mughal garden Achabal also known as " places of the princes" is one of the beautiful gardens in Kashmir valley. It is located in southeastern part of Kashmir near the Himalayan mountains. The garden came into existence in 1620 AD during the time of Mughal rule. The garden was built by Noor Jahan "greatest garden lover all of them" who was also the wife of Mughal emperor Jahangir. During the Dogra rule this garden was further rebuilt by prince Maharaja Gulab singh but on a very small scale.
The garden is mostly famous for four things :

1. A beautiful spring which is the back bone of this garden. This spring flows near the bottom of the Himalayan mountains and becomes a portion of the river Aarpath and finally the river Bringhi.

2. A beautiful waterfall entering into a pool.


3. A mysterious cocunut tree that never fruits. According to locals, the emperor Jahangir cursed it not to fruit.

4. The final point is its beauty. Once you entered this garden, your eyes will keep watching. This garden is really very beautiful.

Width of this garden : 45ft. (14m)
And a beautiful area of 21015ft². (1952.4m²).
